An application to compel the Deputy President to appoint a commission of inquiry into state capture.
The Quaker Peace Centre, The FW de Klerk Foundation and AfriForum, all represented by a team of lawyers assembled by Accountability Now, have launched an urgent application in the Concourt seeking the appointment, by the Deputy President, of a commission of inquiry into state capture.
They argue that the President is at risk of a conflict of interests and is accordingly unable to act; by operation of the Constitution the Deputy President should have acted in place of the President by urgently setting up an independent judin State of Capture review and other attachments to founding affidavit”icial commission of inquiry into state capture.
