JOHANNESBURG – Accountability Now Director Paul Hofffman says in the interest of protecting Parliament, Mapisa-Nqakula should resign.

The National Assembly speaker is alleged to have accepted bribes worth millions of rand from a military contractor.

This while she was serving as Defence and Military Veterans minister.

Accountability Now says Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula’s decision to take special leave is strategic and just a way of ensuring taxpayers continue paying her salary.
